David and Diane began attending Skillman where they were married in 1991. David began serving as a Deacon in 1998 and became an Elder in 2017. David works on an Institutional trading desk for a local firm. Diane graduated from Abilene Christian University and is employed by American Airlines. They have two sons: Brooks a graduate of Trinity University and Reid a student at Sewanee University. The Alexander’s are involved in Life Group, Welcoming committee and David serves as Head of the Finance Committee for Skillman Church of Christ.

Shane began attending Skillman in 1983. Shane and Cheryl later met at Skillman and were married in 1989. Shane became an elder in 2012. Shane works for a software consulting company. Cheryl owns and operates a retail clothing and gift store in East Dallas. They have two children: Allison – married to Corey Self, and Gregg; all graduates of Abilene Christian University. The Calvin’s are both involved in worship ministry, Life Groups and Fellowship/hospitality. Shane is also a member of the finance committee.

Craig and Barbara Gray met at Harding University and were married in 1980. They came to Skillman, where Barbara had grown up, in 1989 and Craig became an elder in 2005. Craig and Barbara have 2 grown children and three grandchildren. Craig has worked in education for 30+ years as a teacher, coach, principal, and currently as the Director of Digital Learning at Region 10 Education Service Center.

David and Lorna began attending Skillman in 1989, David served as deacon for many years and became an elder in 2017. He works as an artist, painting landscapes of the American West, and is represented by various galleries. Lorna worked as a Spanish teacher at Highland Park High School and Trinity Christian Academy and retired in 2018 after 33 years of teaching. She now volunteers as a docent at the Meadows Museum on the SMU campus and is involved in Bible Study Fellowship. They raised their three children at Skillman. Ryan lives in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife Wansley and their three children (Tarver, Rip, and Bob). Ryan is a principle and the chief investment officer for a real estate firm. Elizabeth is a marketing designer in Austin, TX. Michael is a tax attorney in Nashville, TN.

David and Lorna serve at the Bridge, Grace Café, the Hospitality Committee, Life Group Leaders, and in the Welcoming/ Greeters Ministry at Skillman.

Royce and Ruth Ann are life long members of Skillman Church of Christ. Royce began attending when he was five years old. Ruth Ann’s parents were members of Skillman when she was born. They met as members of the youth group, began dating in high school and were married after each graduated from Southern Methodist University. They have two sons both of which live in the Dallas area. Royce is retired after working at PriceWaterhouse and Verizon. Ruth Ann held several corporate positions before becoming a teacher at the pre-school that their sons attended. Based on this experience, Ruth Ann started Skillman Childhood Development Center pre-school in 1994. The pre-school began as a one day a week program with three teachers and 21 students and has grown to it’s current five day a week program with a staff of forty and over 250 students.

Royce and Ruth Ann were both baptized at Skillman. Royce was appointed Deacon in 1988 and Elder in 2012. Ruth Ann was appointed as a Children’s Minister in 2010.

David and Debbie Williams came to Skillman in 1987, and David became an elder in 2012. David works as a National Account Manager for D2 Consulting. Debbie works for Dave Perry Miller Reality as a Realtor. They have 3 children (Grant, Mollie, and Elizabeth) and 1 daughter-in-law (Leah). They are the proud grandparents of Thomas, their first grandson who also attends Skillman with Grant and Leah. The Williams’ are involved in local missions such as serving at the Bridge, Grace Cafe, and Regeneration. They also enjoy working in the Children and Youth Ministry.

Mike and Carla returned to Skillman in 20014 after spending 10 years in Montgomery, Alabama. Earlier Mike was a minister for 20 years along with a stint as a missionary in Santiago, Chile. Currently he teaches for Faulkner University and does consulting work for the Institute of Faith and the Academy. Carla is an architect for Goodwyn, Mills, and Cawood, Inc. They have four children: Corey, Richard, Benjamin, Rebekah, and three grandchildren; Ella, Evie, and Connor. Mike teaches Bible classes and is on the Missions Committee. Carla serves on the facilities management team and oversees the monthly Senior Luncheon and communion bread preparation.
